Abstract

|
The etiology of stress-induced cardiomyopathy, known as ¡¯takotsubo¡¯ cardiomyopathy and which mimics acute myocardial infarction, is not clear. However, emotional or physical stress is known to be possible causes. We experienced a case of stress-induced cardiomyopathy after hysterectomy in patient with massive postpartum bleeding. A 34 year old female presented with acute chest discomfort and dyspnea. Electrocardiography (ECG) showed T wave inversion on V3~V5 leads and transthoracic echocardiography (TTE) revealed wall motion abnormality in left ventricular apex. cardiac enzyme were mildly elevated, but coronary angiography revealed no significant stenosis. These abnormal findings of ECG, TTE, and cardiac enzymes were normalized after 3 weeks of medical treatmemnt
